Twitter Lashed Out At Tourists Who Littered Triund Trek After Himachal Lifted Travel Ban
The situation all over the country is getting back to normal slowly as the cases of COVID-19 positive are decreasing and the state governments are also reducing the restrictions including the restrictions which were imposed on travelling. The government of Himachal Pradesh also removed the travel ban and soon there was a huge influx of tourists from all over the country which resulted in massive traffic jams on some border areas.
However, the removal of travel ban has also affected the nature in an adverse manner as the tourists are making the tourist spots dirty by littering plastic waste and liquor bottles. Recently, a Twitter user took to the micro-blogging site and posted photos of Truind trek (Dharamshala). These pics were really heart-breaking and there was garbage on the whole trek as the tourists had littered plastic waste and liquor bottles all over the place which eventually destroyed the natural beauty of the surroundings.
Take a look at the photos:
The Twitter user captioned the images as, “अतिथि देवो भव: we have been enjoying the natural world for many many years but now beast has overpowered the beauty Himalayas are just like our metro cities now, garbage at every nook & corner Post covid revenge love story Truind trek (Dharamshala) Be my voice Folded hands”

Soon Twitterati started expressing their annoyance over such tourists who are spoiling the environment with their irresponsible behaviour. While some people stated that the government should impose heavy fines on those who litter waste on the natural surroundings, few others have already lost hope as they have seen such situation at almost every scenic place.
Here are some of the selected reactions:

Now time has come to impose garbage fees to remove garbage left by tourist. And govt should employ local people to clear garbage.
I have seen in SIKKIM…Gurudongmar route, at a point, car is checked to clear of plastic in upward journey. Every destination of every state adopt it— Rajib Chattopadhyay (@Rajib_chatterji) July 1, 2021

This unfortunately is the story everywhere in HP, every year and more so during this pandemic with the recent heavy influx of tourists.
The @CMOFFICEHP govt need to incorporate heavy fines in existing law and a dedicated vigilant tourism police to stop this nonsense.

Most of the visitors are from near by metro cities & corporate world; who are hypocrites at utmost. They will engage on SM backing Greta for her environmental campaign while would continue to waste electricity, crowd the traffic with Cars & off course litter the visiting place.

With Covid, the urge to go for trekking has increased and the tendency to litter too. Please carry a dustbin bag and bring back the waste disposals, is it very tough to do that? Some people consider Mountains to be the dumping ground.

It's so frustrating. Why are people so disrespectful?
In Curacao there are some of the best diving & most beautiful beaches in the world but for the unrelenting trash floating & sunken to the coral below.— Merci Merci Me (@OneMarzian) July 1, 2021
It’s extremely disgusting to see how people want to enjoy nature and explore its exquisiteness but don’t know how to behave sensibly as a tourist and keep surroundings beautiful the way it was before their visit.
