Court Orders Man To Pay Woman Rs 3.5 Lakh For Sending Insulting Texts & Hurting Her Feelings

There is no denying the fact that women have to go through a lot of unpleasant things in life and sometimes they have to bear the insulting and obscene messages on the social media networks and messaging platforms as well. This happens because the sender feels that he can bully over a woman easily as she won’t be able to do anything to save herself or get him punished.

However, things are changing with time and recently an incident took place in UAE which will motivate women to file a complaint against those who are troubling them by sending insulting messages. The UAE court ordered a man to pay compensation of 20,000 dirhams (Rs 3.5 lakhs approx.) to the woman whom he was sending insulting messages. The man was found guilty of accusing her of being involved in multiple relationships and also cursed her upbringing as he claimed that she used to send him intimate photos of herself to attract him.

The woman decided to approach the court and sought a compensation of 100,000 dirhams as not only her mental condition deteriorated because of what the man did but her reputation also got damaged. The court found the man guilty and convicted him in a criminal case for disrespecting a woman and said that he has hurt the feelings of the woman. The court ordered the man to pay 20,000 dirhams in compensation and also ordered him to reimburse the legal expenses of the woman.

So if someone is sending obscene and insulting messages to you, don’t sit silent and take the appropriate action. This kind of judgment by the court is highly welcomed and if the guilty are punished appropriately, crimes against women will decrease to a great extent.
