The Indian politicians are nowadays pretty active on the social media networks in order to remain connected with the people but there are very few who are loved by netizens and one of them is Shashi Tharoor. The Congress Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, is also a writer and has authored 22 books till date. Before getting into politics, Shashi Tharoor has also served the country as an international diplomat.
Shashi Tharoor is famous among netizens because of his impeccable English skills and mind-blowing vocabulary. Many times we have seen Tharoor making tweets in which he uses such difficult words for which his followers have to consult a dictionary to know the meaning of the words used and understand what the politician wants to say. Once again he has told his followers about a new word but this time he has also told its meaning as well as used it as an opportunity to take a jibe at the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Recently, a Twitter user made a tweet to Shashi Tharoor and expressed her desire to learn a new out of the box word and the Congress politician obliged soon. In his reply, Shashi Tharoor talks about the word, “pogonotrophy” which means, “the cultivation of a beard”.
This is what Shashi Tharoor tweeted, “My friend Rathin Roy, the economist, taught me a new word today: pogonotrophy, which means ‘the cultivation of a beard’. As in, the PM’s pogonotrophy has been a pandemic preoccupation…”
