“Ye To Shuru Hote Hi Khatm Ho Gaya,” Memes Flooded After India’s Humiliating Defeat In 2nd ODI
The Australian cricket team made a terrific comeback in the 3-match ODI series against India after losing the first ODI as it crushed the hosts by 10 wickets in the second ODI which was played yesterday at Dr. Y.S. Rajashekar Reddy Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
The Indian team failed in putting up a good show as the Australian bowlers especially Mitchell Starc ripped apart the Indian batting line-up and no Indian batter other than Virat Kohli and Axar Patel was able to cross the 20 digit mark. The Indian team could manage only 117 in 26 overs; the highest scorer for India was Virat Kohli (31 runs, 35 balls, 4 fours) and Axar Patel also made a useful contribution of 29 runs not out. While Mitchell Strac took a fifer, Sean Abbott and Nathan Ellis supported him well by dismissing 3 and 2 Indian batters, respectively.
The Australian openers Travis Head (51 runs, 30 balls, 10 fours) and Mitchell Marsh (66 runs, 36 balls, 6 fours & 6 sixes) played blistering knocks. They made their team chase the target successfully in just 11 overs and handed a humiliating defeat to India.
The Indian cricket fans were left very disappointed with this performance of team India and they mocked the Indian cricketers mercilessly. While some said that they have become habitual of seeing the Indian team losing the match by 10 wickets, there were few who opined that India has started playing the T11 format, here are some reactions:
Second Mastercard ODI #INDvsAUS. Chase lasted about 11 overs. Aussies just pasted india to the ground and stomped on it.

Well, this ODI lasted less than a 20 over game . 37 overs across both innings, and kaam tamaam.
Forget this , and move on Team India. Need to play the swinging ball better. #INDvsAUS— Virender Sehwag (@virendersehwag) March 19, 2023

After the match, the Aussie skipper Steve Smith said that undoubtedly the match was a quick one as only 37 overs in total were bowled which is not seen usually. He praised Mitchell Starc and other Aussie bowlers and further said that he had no idea as to how the pitch will play, whether the ball would swing and he also did not think about any totals. Talking about the chase, Steve Smith said that it was all about executing the plans properly and bringing the Indian team under pressure. He added that it was certainly great to see how Mitchell and Travis batted and it was also very pleasing to make a comeback after getting defeated in the first ODI.
Now, both the teams will clash against each other on March 22 in the third and the final ODI of the series which will be the decider of the series and will be played at M.A Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
