“I Was Playing Earlier, Was Leading Indian Team,” Shikhar Dhawan On Being Replaced By Shubman Gill
Shikhar Dhawan, the Indian cricketer is one of the best openers that the Indian team has ever had and he has played many match-winning knocks for the country but for quite some time now, he has been out of the Indian squad because of his poor performances in the recent past. What has made his comeback in the Indian team more difficult is the fact that Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill have played some terrific knocks when they got the chance to play in Shikhar Dhawan’s place.
Recently, Shikhar Dhawan talked about his ouster from the squad and why he feels that Shubman Gill has earned his place in the team. During an interview with a YouTuber, Gabbar stated that earlier he was not just playing, he was also leading the team but now he is not in the team as he was dropped after 1-2 bad series.
He added that Shubman Gill has been playing very good but he just can’t sit and cry for what is happening with him because he believes that whatever the God has planned for him will be for his good so therefore he doesn’t feel bad. Shikhar Dhawan further said that even a batter with number one ranking can feel insecure so what is the use of this tag.
Currently, Shikhar Dhawan is leading the IPL team Punjab Kings and the team has won both the matches of the tournament which it has played till now. In the last match which was played against Rajasthan Royals, Shikhar Dhawan led from the front as he scored 86 runs not and helped his team in posting the total of 197/5 in the stipulated 20 overs. RR lost the match by 5 runs and now Punjab Kings will clash against Sunriers Hyderabad on April 9 at Hyderabad.
